Mysterious Phones Found
A new series of GPS Missions
Can a phone make you go to certain places? There is rumours of mysterious phones people found lying in the streets in differnet places in Britain and Germany (namely Scunthorpe, Ebbw Vale, Warrington, London, Cologne, Nuremberg, Constance and Hamburg) these days. Returning to the same places over and over it´s said they feel like the found mobile makes them go there. Can this be? And what does it mean?

Walking with strangers
How to play when there is no one else around
GPS Mission has a lot of active players, playing in more than 50 countries. But at this point of time, I am still the only one in my city. This seems to be a general problem of location-based gaming. Here is some thoughts on how to solve it.
Comparing Maps
The GPS Mission Designer now offers a variety of maps
To create a GPS Mission others can play, anyone can use the online GPS Mission Designer. By placing symbols on a digital map, checkpoints are generated, places players have to visit. As Jörn announced in the forum, the mission designer now offers a whole variety of maps to choose from. I think this can be extremely helpful, especially when designing offroad missions like e.g. the virtual mushrooms. It´s pretty amazing how different the same place (I chose a section of the Stadtwald in Karlsruhe) looks like on different maps (see below).

Having Fun with Galileo
Galileo Masters in Constance: Orbster wins two Prices

The European Satellite Navigation Competition aims to foster innovation in the field of satellite navigation applications. Orbster took part for the first time and has not been awarded with one but with two prices (which makes us a little bit proud)! For a game still under developement ("Unholy Places") the company won the second price in the Game category announced by the Taiwaneese Industrial Technology Research Institute ITRI that was asking "How can we HAVE FUN with a satellite which is precise in timing and positioning?". On top Orbster won the third price in the regional competition of Baden-Württemberg.
