On the illustration of waypoints

One design option the GPS Mission designer offers, is to add pictures to waypoints and riddles. The most intuitive way to use this option probably is to add pictures of the places one guides the players to. But since this is what players will see in reality anyways, I was trying to think of what else this option could be used for.

A new series of GPS Missions

Have you ever wished to be able to travel in time? Well now you can - with your GPS phone as time machine. So far there is travels available to the 31st of March 1879, the 2nd of June 1967, the 2nd of April 1968, the 14th of May 1970, the 15th of July 1971, the 22nd of October 1971, the 11th of May 1972, the 12th of May 1972, the 12th of May two hours later, the 15th of May 1972, the 19th of May 1972, and the 24th of May 1972.

Of course you need to be in the right place to be able to go backwards in time... You´ll end up in times where something happened at these places.

Monopoly in times of economic breakdown

I was reporting on some location based versions of monopoly before. Now I came across this wonderful adaption to the current economic situation by extra3 (German TV show). For those that don´t understand German: The idea of this new version called "banking crisis" is that it is a game without any risk. After investing in windy real estate business and literally devastating money one will arrive on the state fields getting all the money back.

The University of Constance is one great piece of architecture. A friend once sayed it looked like Mies van der Rohe met Hundertwasser and they had some LSD together. People need years until they find their way around.

Marking History

Most of the things that happen somewhere sometime don´t leave any visible traces on location. But there are many different ways people mark certain places in order to remember events that took place at them.

Working on a series of GPS-Missions locating history with virtual, geocoded marks I started looking for different types of "real" markers of past events.
