Photo Safari
How to travel parallel in different places of the world

(results of the first Safari in Konstanz Fürstenberg)
Inspired by the wonderful Lonely Planet Guide to Experimental Travel I came up with a new series of GPS Missions making massive use of the photo-task-option.
The City as Game Board
A GPS adaption brings Monopoly back on the streets in Friedrichshafen

Many location-based games are inspired by existing computer or board games. This kind of adaption works especially well with games like Monopoly that are themed around a city.
Street Corner Photography
One of the options the mission designer of GPS-Mission offers is placing a photo task. So at a certain point players will be asked to make a picture and upload it. The idea of making the same spot being photographed again and again reminds me the movie smoke by Wayne Wang and Paul Auster. Auggie Wren, owner of a smoke shop in Brooklyn starts every day by taking a photo of the same street corner.
In rememberance of the movie I placed a little „Auggie-Wren“-mission on location. You can probabely guess what I used the photo task for... I am curious to see what kind of pictures will be generated like this!
Walking my Phone
Back at the desk... But since too much sitting ain´t no good once in a while I go out collecting some gold. Especially when working in the evenings I like this as a little inbetween workout. Feels a bit like going out with a dog. At least I´m meeting a lot of people walking their dogs.
Since there is a wood and the rhine as the usual walking destination close to where I live looking for gold actually brought me to many places in my close neighborhood I haven´t been before.
(there is always some gold laying around in the neighborhood)
