Future Hunt at the Ars Electronica

On Monday (September, 8) we’ll be at the Mission Future event at the Ars Electronica in Linz, Austria.

The event is all about "Openess" (IP rights, open source, community driven creation processes, open standards, etc.) The speakers are pretty prominent and we are proud to be invited.

We’re doing a piece called “Future Hunt”. Basically it will be a bunch of handcrafted GPS Missions around the conference venue. We would have called it “Future Mission” to better match our “GPS Mission” brand, but that would have made us “Future Mission at Mission Future”…

We’ll grab a few of the by-invitation-only attendees and get them to explore Ars Electronica related places using GPS Mission.  At the same time we’ll try to get other attendees to create their own missions, comment on the whole event and submit way marks and impressions. All the content & positions will be fed into KML streams and to the web. You can watch the thing on a KML feed that we’ll announce in time. Let’s see how much location-based content the attendees will create in about two hours!
