First short message from the LBS Challenge

Sitting in the hotel in Singapore: The NAVTEQ LBS Challenge is over. Our game GPS Mission was a semi-finalist (top 12 in Asia Pacific). We had our own kiosk on the large NAVTEQ booth with good exposure courtesy of NAVTEQ. A big thanks to NAVTEQ – it was great.

The LBS Challenge is the most important competition for location-based service applications in the world. The APAC region is the largest region of the competition with the most submissions yet.We didn’t make one of the top four places, too bad. Still it was fun and top 12 is great, too. Have a look at the other finalists and results at the LBS Challenge site.

My personal favorites (apart from us obviously)  were Pacific Data Vision’s Sky Mail service (B2B) and the Australian Local Joe Live service (B2C).

Hi Joern & Georg, GPS Mission should have won! You guys have built a great product. It was great to meet you in Singapore. Best regards, Frank (PDV/SkyMail)

Re: First short message from the LBS Challenge

Thanks for the shout-out guys. It was great to meet you and I was very happy to hear Germany beat Portugal! We're currently sending GPS Mission links to all our friends so that Australia can win the prize to come to Oktoberfest :-) Regards, Guy.
